Abstract

Crime is one of the most serious problems facing society. Different countries are trying to combat it in various ways. Either by determining a penalty to be imposed on the perpetrator of the criminal conduct or by determining a precautionary measure. Imprisonment is the most frequently imposed punishment by judges, as it is prescribed for most crimes except for offenses.
