International protection of the environment from climate change during armed conflicts

Abstract

This study reviews an issue that we consider to be one of the most important aspects of the law of armed conflict or the law of war, in addition to its local importance; It is important at the international level, because war seriously affects the contents of the environment with all its components, unless it is regulated by strict rules directed at armies, and those rules are provided with deterrent penalties that the violator bears through the mechanisms of international responsibility, especially if it is accompanied by a deliberate change in climatic conditions. It was necessary to conduct this study to stand on the concepts of the environment and climate change, and it was necessary for the study to exclude - from its framework - the rules for protecting the environment in peace, which are regulated by the international environmental law, and to elaborate on the protective rules included in international agreements, whether directly or indirectly , Then the study of the international responsibility for violating the rules regulating the protection of the environment in the law of armed conflict, as a basic guarantee to ensure its protection at the international level, especially from climate changes.
