Abstract

Civil society organizations play a pivotal role, whether they are civil associations, federations, unions or non-governmental organizations, as these organizations are considered a key partner in the process of sustainable development, through the prominent role they play in achieving real assistance to government state institutions in many social, economic and political fields, and civil society organizations are the appropriate tool for the participation of individuals in the development process, which is considered as the right way to achieve democracy and development. It is noteworthy that the activities practiced by Egyptian civil society organizations are not newly established, but have had clear fingerprints for more than a century, as they have contributed to achieving tangible progress in the field of education, health, environmental protection, strengthening the principle of equality, eradicating poverty and hunger, and protecting women. However, the work of these organizations should be carried out within a constitutional and legal framework that creates a legal climate governing the activities of these organizations, ensuring a genuine contribution by community organizations to the development process and strengthening the culture of volunteerism. It also ensures that these organizations do not deviate from the objectives approved by the legislator.
