Abstract

The media not only play a large and vital role in shaping trends and opinions in society, but also in influencing the political knowledge of individuals, and the ruling regimes have been alerted to this role, so they attach great importance to the media, and exploit news programs to spread a political culture commensurate with their policy and ideology, and some of these systems put laws - often - that impose restrictions on the work of the media in an attempt to control them, And control the extent to which it can have an impact on public opinion. Freedom of information is of great importance because it is the most effective means of disseminating opinions of interest to societies, expressing their aspirations and rights, ensuring their communication with others, and may allow multiple sources through diversity in the dissemination of information, ensuring that individuals verify the validity of the facts. However, this freedom must be surrounded by duties and responsibilities, hence we realize the need to subject the exercise of this freedom to a number of principles, procedures, conditions, restrictions and penalties specified in the law, as necessary in a democratic society, in order to protect the homeland and its safety, prevent crime, respect the rights of others, and prevent the dissemination of secrets of individuals.
