Abstract

The Islamic religion is the owner of the main pillar in freedom of belief and respect for other monotheistic religions and protection has forbidden infringement on the owners of religions and places of worship for those religions, God Almighty said (no compulsion in religion may show the rationality of the abolition). And the Almighty said, "If your Lord wills, all those on earth will believe, do you hate people so that they may be believers. And the Almighty said, "And let you find the closest affection for those who believed, who said that we are Christians, because among them are priests and monks, and that they are not arrogant." There are many laws that include freedom of religion, freedom of belief and the practice of religious rites of people of different religions and work to protect and respect them in various laws at the international level as well as in international laws, treaties and organizations.  At the internal level in the Egyptian constitution and criminal laws, and this is contrary to what we saw in recent times of the twenty-first century, religions and beliefs have become sources of controversy and conflicts between religious and sectarian sects within Egyptian society, and the Egyptian Initiative for Rights and Freedoms has monitored (36) cases of attacks related to contempt of religions and the repercussions that have increased to the point of violence between people of different religions. It monitored (64) reports due to attacks on people of religions and violation of the sanctity of sanctities and places designated for worship, in the period from January 25, 2011, until the end of 2012, and there are many lawsuits filed before the criminal courts until the present time.
