Higher education system and economic development

Abstract

Education, especially higher education, is an essential factor in the process of progress and development for any society. The higher education represents the top of the educational system that contributes to the development and development of  human resources, the preparation of cadres, the raising of productive efficiency, and the advancement of both the economic and social standards . In order to meet the increasing interest in higher education, there is a need for large potentials and expenditures on a continuous basis, which lead to an increasing, especially during the last decade of the twentieth century. So, that has been an increase in what the society and the public budget allocate of its economic and financial resources by raising the share of spending on the higher education sector from value of the gross domestic product and the public expenditures .
