Abstract

Commercial banks witnessed many developments during the last decade of the twentieth century, represented by tremendous technological progress and the development of new financial instruments, and the opening of financial markets, and despite that, there were many financial crises witnessed by the sector, whether in developing or developed countries, and led to a negative impact on the economies of those countries, In many of these crises, banks had the common denominator. Given that banks represent one of the pillars of the economic structure of any country and the complexity of its operations and the presence of many relevant parties and interests, it is necessary to think about the extent to which commercial banks need the concept of governance.
