The customs clearance profession is one of the professions of a special nature, as the customs broker is the entity or person who has full knowledge of the terms of shipping and customs clearance, regulations and laws that regulate export and import operations, and then the ability to clear all matters related to customs flexibly and easily, which helps you save time and effort as well as money, and the Egyptian Customs Law No. 207 of 2020 stipulated in Article No. (51) that it is not permissible to practice customs clearance work on goods belonging to others Except after obtaining a license to do so from the Authority, and the license period shall be two years renewable, and the license shall expire if it is not renewed before the end of its term, and the executive regulations of this law shall determine the controls, conditions, forms and rules for the application of this, and the Authority may issue permits to the assistants of the customs broker in accordance with the categories and the conditions and controls determined by the executive regulations of this law. Article 108 of the Gulf Unified Customs Law stipulates that: Any natural or legal person engaged in the preparation, signature and submission of customs declarations to the customs office and the completion of customs procedures for the clearance of goods for the account of others shall be considered a customs broker, and Article (109) thereof stipulates: GCC citizens (natural and juridical) have the right to practice the profession of customs clearance after obtaining a license from the administration. Other contracts, and the nature of the obligation imposed on him, as well as the controls and guarantees of the customs broker, and explained how to obtain the necessary licenses to practice this profession, and also identified the competent authorities in the event of a dispute, as well as clarified the disciplinary system of the customs broker, and finally the guarantees of the customs broker towards disciplinary responsibility.
