Abstract

The term "digitalization of the judiciary" refers to the use of technology and information techniques to expedite and improve legal processes and provide legal services. The digitization of the judiciary involves integrating information technologies into the legal system to enhance legal processes and facilitate access to true justice. This digital transformation includes using technology to improve judicial workflows and achieve greater efficiency in delivering legal services. Among the key aspects of digitizing the judiciary are adopting electronic legal documents and files, reducing reliance on paper, and improving communication between judges, lawyers, and involved parties through the internet. Additionally, providing online access to judicial sessions and developing advanced systems to manage cases and court sessions effectively are integral parts of this transformation. Despite the significant benefits of digitizing the judiciary, it is essential to consider potential challenges such as digital security issues, privacy concerns, and the need for continuous training for judicial system stakeholders, including judges, lawyers, and judicial assistants, to ensure effective and smooth judicial operations. Arab countries, particularly Gulf Arab states like Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, along with Egypt, have made notable efforts in this field.
