The competence to interpret constitutional texts is one of the most important functions performed by the constitutional judge under the rule of law because of its importance in filling the shortage and removing ambiguity in the constitutional document, which helps to apply and update it and keep pace with developments in society, as the constitutional legislator is satisfied with developing texts only, and then comes the role of the judiciary to interpret and apply these texts and implement their provisions on the facts, so it is not imagined that the constitutional judge applies the ambiguous constitutional text without interpreting it, and the constitutional texts Based on this idea, the importance of the constitutional judge's work in interpreting the supreme constitutional texts emerges, whether directly by granting the constitutional judge this inherent competence or indirectly, such as that exercised by the judge when carrying out his other duties, foremost of which is oversight of the constitutionality of the law.
