This research dealt with the position of international law on the use of "combat robots" in armed conflicts. The main objective of the research is to identify the position of international law (in particular international humanitarian law) towards these robots. The main problem of the research is this: Should the use of "combat robots" in armed conflict be allowed, banned, or restricted? If they are permitted, who will be responsible for the damage caused by their illicit use? To answer this question, the research defined combat robots as an initial and basic point before stating the position of international law on them, and then, the research in the first section was presented to define combat robots, and their most important types and risks. Then, the research was presented in the second section of the use of combat robots in armed conflicts between permissibility and prohibition from the point of view of international law. The third section dealt with the statement of responsibility for the use of combat robots in armed conflicts. The research found several results, including: International law (especially international humanitarian law) is devoid of any rules governing the use of combat robots in armed conflicts. Therefore, There are basic trends in this regard; the first allows their use, the second believes otherwise, i.e. banning them, and the third allows their use according to strict controls. When combat robots are illegally used in armed conflicts, civil and criminal liability arises; The research recommends the need to develop an international treaty or a binding legal framework related to regulating the use of combat robots in armed conflicts, and to develop specific controls for the use of combat robots in armed conflicts that ensure the observance of the principles of distinction, proportionality, precaution, humanity, accountability and responsibility, and to consider each case separately to determine who is responsible for the illegal use of combat robots in armed conflicts.
