It has become easier for people to circulate their private life through social networking sites with the technological development and human use of them. This study came to demonstrate the seriousness of this. The types of defamation crimes, as the crime Social networking sites are used to spread rumours is characterized by modernity, affects reputation and honor, and threatens individuals due to its ease of commission and spread in recent times. The study touched on the concept of social networking sites and their characteristics, the position of the Emirati legislator and the position of Egyptian Law No. (175) of 2018 regarding information technology crimes regarding the crime of defamation through social sites.
