The term "intellectual extremism" in particular and the term "extremism" in general is one of the most common terms in recent times, until it has become a phenomenon that has imposed itself on the table of research and study, at various levels and levels, which called on many countries of the world to hold international conferences to discuss confronting the phenomenon of the spread of extremist thought, while motivating researchers and scholars to highlight in their research and studies ways of this confrontation, and its repercussions in the Arab region, in particular, and in the world in general. It should be noted that the phenomenon of the prevalence of extremist ideology has received wide attention, whether at the social level and the examination of its causes and social and humanitarian motives, or at the security level, and the search for ways of security confrontation, or at the legal level, and the discussion of ways of legislative confrontation, which is the subject of this study, especially at the level of criminal study to confront this phenomenon. The term "extremism and extremists" began to be used since the mid-nineteenth century in England, where it was widely used in the political press, as it appeared in the United States of America in the Civil War, 18611865 AD, When the hardline members of both warring parties in the north and south were called "extremists", and in France during World War I (1914-1918) after a decades-long confrontation with each other by the left wing and right-wing political forces, and despite the fact that supporters of extremist views and ideas existed throughout human history, the term appeared widely only in the first half of the twentieth century.
