Abstract

Egyptian and Emirati foreign policies, with the emergence of a multipolar world, have played a unique role in achieving balance and diversification in international relations from 2014 to 2023. The strengthening of multilateralism came with the rise of various regional and international blocs aimed at creating an international balance in economic and political power; reducing the dominance of a unipolar power over global financial policies, and the necessity of finding several effective alternatives to the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, especially amidst the negative repercussions of global crises politically, economically, and environmentally, with the aim of achieving economic development, within the framework of a multilateral diplomatic approach and maintaining balanced international relations. The Egyptian state has sought to join the economic blocs that have emerged on the international stage, including the BRICS bloc that includes some of the fastest growing economies in the world. This bloc is also referred to as the transcontinental group, as it includes China, Russia, Brazil, India, and South Africa; the member countries represent more than 42% of the world's population, 30% of the world's land, 23% of the gross domestic product, and 18% of global trade. In addition to the role of the BRICS bloc in influencing the global economy and its effective contribution to shaping a new multipolar economic strategy, the BRICS countries produce one-third of the world's grain.
