Abstract

In light of the developments that have occurred in the means and methods of combating crime and the application of these methods by the court through the judge or judges when the court is composed of a body based on new foundations and principles in criminal policy that do not rely solely on physical punishments, such as death and long-term imprisonment, and to avoid their drawbacks, alternatives have been found to short-term deprivation of liberty, along with the available opportunities for the criminal judge to tailor judicial responses. The majority of modern legislations, and most laws of countries in the world, have adopted the suspension of the execution of sentences with varying degrees, which aim to reintegrate the offender into society by rehabilitating and restoring balance to the social system in pursuit of justice.
