The Kuwaiti civil law defined the contract of construction in Article 661 as a contract in which one party is obligated to perform a work for the other party in exchange for compensation, without being subordinate to or representing the other party. Similarly, the Egyptian civil law defined it in Article 646 as a contract in which one of the contractors commits to create something or perform a work in return for a fee that the other contractor undertakes.
