This research deals with the phenomenon of corruption from a criminal perspective, as it aims to explore the challenges related to combating corruption and creating reform mechanisms within the framework of effective governance. The research presents definitions and classifications of corruption, and reviews the basic concepts associated with it such as integrity, transparency, and governance. It also addresses the challenges facing anti-corruption, including weak legislation and oversight mechanisms, in addition to the challenges of controlling corruption crimes and tracking their proceeds. The research also focuses on anti-corruption strategies, including criminal policy and criminalizing corruption, and reviews the experiences of successful countries such as Singapore and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Through this research, practical proposals are presented aimed at enhancing the prevention of corruption and raising the level of governance as a guarantee for achieving sustainable development.
