Abstract

The Court of Cassation is, within the scope of judicial work, the highest court of ordinary jurisdiction, especially in terms of exercising this work to achieve justice. Since its establishment, there have been specific legal rules and functions that it uniquely possesses. It has been customary to divide these functions into two categories: the first category is comprised of traditional functions, while the second encompasses newly developed functions. The circumstances in which the Court of Cassation was established are likely the main reason behind its significant role in upholding the law and establishing the principles of justice, whether regarding the Egyptian or French Court of Cassation, as the purpose of the role that each of them undertakes aligns with the original principle of ensuring the proper application of the law due to the connection of these rules to the public order.
