Abstract

This research explores the impact of the digital economy on industrial development, with a focus on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The research examines the challenges and opportunities inherent in adopting digital technologies, and compares Saudi Arabia’s strategies with global best practices. By leveraging data from various international indicators and reports, this paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the current state of digital integration in the industrial sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The results highlight significant progress in digital infrastructure but also reveal ongoing challenges such as the skills gap and cybersecurity threats. The discussion of the results addresses how these findings align with global trends. The researcher also provides recommendations to enhance digital transformation efforts in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The use of digital technologies such as IoT, AI and Blockchain is increasing in the industrial sector, but remains uneven across different industries with the oil and gas sector leading the adoption, while manufacturing and mining are slower to integrate these technologies.
