Today, the world is witnessing a notable increase in the use of electronic devices and modern documentation tools, which has made paperless transactions possible. However, the use of modern technologies, which leaves a written trace in the traditional sense, does not, in fact, raise complex issues, and electronic evidence must be obtained through legitimate means. The legitimacy of criminal evidence, including its outputs and electronic means, requires that the procedures comply with legal rules and the established systems in the conscience of civilized society. Consequently, the procedures for collecting evidence obtained from electronic means, if they violate the procedural rules governing how such evidence is obtained, are invalid and cannot be used as evidence for building a criminal conviction.
