Abstract

Liability arising from defective products is one of the types of liability that has recently attracted significant attention from legal scholars. This is due to the increase and abundance of production driven by the intervention of modern technology and techniques in all areas of industry and manufacturing, which has led to the emergence of new accidents and damages that were previously unknown. Therefore, many countries have sought to reformulate their laws, enacting strict legislation targeting producers, suppliers, and anyone involved in the distribution of products that negatively affect the health and safety of individuals and property. This development has resulted in the proliferation of numerous and diverse products that often endanger the consumer's life and finances, especially when these products are defective or fail to meet standards. This situation has prompted efforts to find effective ways to protect consumers, which is an essential goal that the state seeks to achieve, particularly as it faces the risks posed by counterfeit products, non-compliant goods, and services provided by producers that lack basic safety and security requirements.
