In fact, technical intermediaries play a major role in providing many services that allow Internet users to access and browse. However, the Internet is not only exploited for legitimate purposes. It also provides a platform for rights violations. The anonymity feature helps users commit many crimes, including copyright infringement, which makes it difficult for rights holders to resort to the judiciary. For this reason, they have increasingly sought to hold technical intermediaries accountable. These technical intermediaries, whose services have - in one way or another - enabled the infringement to be committed, are able to delete or block access to illegal content, or even prevent its appearance. This special status could make it possible to hold them accountable. The Omani Anti-Cybercrime Law did not include texts regulating the liability of technical intermediaries, but it included a general text that criminalizes the use of the information network or information technology means to infringe on a legally protected right of an author or neighboring right holder.
