Legal aspects of protecting national security when foreign companies invest in infrastructure projects

Abstract

This research paper examines the rules governing the review of the entry of foreign investments into the Egyptian market through new investments in vital sectors or the acquisition of national companies that engage in activities of strategic importance to the state such as infrastructure projects in light of foreign companies' efforts to enter new markets for the purpose of expanding production. As the nature of the project or activity practiced by national companies and its importance may require the implementation of some special legal measures depending on whether the company is practicing a strategic activity, which may result from the lack of commitment to them harms the fundamental interests of the state such as its national security.
